EEC Environmental (EEC) conducted a wastewater treatment evaluation at its Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal on the East Coast in response to new regulatory requirements for the management of industrial wastewater. The client also identified the need for an optimal solution to manage wastewater discharge as a response.

To identify an appropriate solution and assess the short-term and long-term risks, EEC evaluated options available for the discharge and/or disposal of process wastewater originating from the submerged combustion vaporizers and air separator units at the terminal. EEC prepared a report on the various technologies and strategies available to the client to meet wastewater discharge standards and goals as stipulated in the draft permit issued for the LNG Terminal by the Department of the Environment pursuant to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.
