Fats, Oil, & Grease (FOG)
EEC Environmental (EEC) is nationally recognized as a leading Fats, Oil, & Grease (FOG) control expert and has developed, implemented, and assessed more than 25 FOG control programs. EEC completed FOG characterization studies for 20 cities and wastewater districts and conducted the largest FOG control study in the country on behalf of the Orange County Sanitation District and its 26 member agencies. EEC has been involved with every facet of FOG control programs, including legal authority development, plan review, variance review, facility inspection, enforcement, permitting, and outreach/education.

Such success is borne by the combined effort of inspection of food service establishments (FSEs), public outreach and education, effective reinforcement of best management practices, and periodic mechanical cleaning of sewers, particularly for hot spots or high-maintenance locations.
